The global purpose of the news show is to learn and integrate the literacies and skill groupings mentioned in the Program Information section while practicing them in the student created news shows. Other purposes include learning how to plan, create and deliver a news show. This requires disciplined commitment, responsibility, flexibility, creativeness and personality development. Students also learn a great deal about technology, career opportunities and involvement in school life. There are other exciting by-products developing such as drama, art, speech, and musical skills which become woven into these shows as well.
