Invention Convention: 56K

Invention convention for 8th graders

Prior to the Thanksgiving break 8th grade students under the direction of Nancy Krefetz and Jason Crockett conducted an invention convention that served as a culminating project for a themed unit dealing with the relationship between change and science, technology, and society. Students were asked to create solutions to current problems in their lives they had determined were significant. Invited to the convention were two patent attorneys who provided technical and legal information on the process inventors must follow to secure legal rights to their ideas. Among the many projects that were showcased several received encouragement for further development by the attorneys.
