  The 2000 Spring Musical
Annie
Thanks one and all for coming to our show!

The Choral Department at Peacock Middle School, Itasca School District #10, performed Annie at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20, 2000 in the Peacock gymnasium. The production work began in January. The students involved were in grades 6 through 8. The first performance coincided with the Fine and Applied Arts Show, the second was our encore performance. We also offered a school day performance for the student body on Tuesday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. This year, the cast and crew included one-hundred and fifty students. Every morning the music room and cafeteria were filled with the sounds of rehearsal. The sets, built by the amazing "Industrial Technology and Magic" crew, took form all over the stage. Costumes were churned out with the expert advice of the Family and Consumer Science department and the costume crew. And each day after school, several crews were busy painting the sets for the many scenes.

Audition rehearsals for Annie began on December 13, 1999. Auditions will be held Monday, January 10 - Thursday, January 13, 2000. Rehearsals will begin January 18 2000 and will continue through April 17, 2000. Seventh and eighth graders will rehearse Tuesday and Thursday from 7:20 A.M. to 7:55 A.M. in the music room, cafeteria, or stage (sixth graders rehearse Monday and Wednesday). Your child, however, may not have to be present at every rehearsal. Please review the daily rehearsal schedule which will be sent home next week. Our public performance dates are scheduled for Wednesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 20, 2000 at 7:00 P.M. in the Peacock Middle School Gym.
To ensure that we get the most out of all of our rehearsals, I am asking that the students always be present and on time for their scheduled rehearsals. If for some reason your child is unable to attend, I ask for a written notice from you. If a child has more than three excused absences or more than one unexcused absence, I will ask that child to withdraw from the musical so that an understudy, or those not chosen, can participate.
Thank you. I am looking forward to a memorable production!
Sincerely,
Mr. Travis
