GRADING

The grade is based on participation, homework, quizzes, and test/projects. Each category is worth 25% of the total grade.

Students must volunteer to speak on a regular basis and take part in all class activities in order to receive full credit for participation.

HOMEWORK

In order to receive full credit (5 pts) for homework it must be completed on time and done completely.  Assignments are always posted on the whiteboard in the front of the room.

TESTS/PROJECTS

There will be a chapter test after every chaper. A variety of individual, partner, and group projects will be assigned throughout the year.

QUIZZES

There will be 1 or 2 quizzes per chapter.

Review: Chapters 1-4

La familia (family) Chapter 5

Vocabulary to discuss family members, characteristics and age. Grammer to learn the verbs tener and ser, and possessive adjectives.

Las Vacaciones (Vacations) Chapter 7

Vocabulary to describe vacation choices, activities, and weather. Grammar to use the personal A construction, and conjugate stem-changing verbs.

La Casa (House)  Chapter 8

Vocabulary: Rooms in a house, furniture, and state chores done in the house.Grammar: Review ir verbs and irregular/stem-changing verbs. Also yo form irregular verbs, and possessive adjectives.

La Salud (Health) Chapter 9

Vocabulary: Feelings, and tell where you are hurt.Grammar: Review present tense verbs, indirect object pronouns, the expression hace…que.

La Comunidad (Community) Chapter 10

Vocabulary: things in a community, numbers and prepositions. Grammar: The preterit tense, and commands.
