The Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs has once again commissioned F. E. Peacock Middle School’s TEAM 7 Science Teacher,
MR.CHRIS LARSEN to present at the MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY’S Coal Workshop, Sat. April 28.

He’ll be training other science teachers from across the state. The first presentation is in how to use a hands-on activity that he created to help students understand how coal deposits were first discovered in Illinois by observing river cuts. The second presentation he designed is an activity to help students understand how core drilling is used to determine the location and size of hidden coal and other mineral deposits.

The presentation will start at about 2:00 p.m. Sorry, it’s already sold out, but all Itasca School District #10 teachers are invited for next year’s seminar.
