A. To pursue academic excellence for all students and the district
- To expand oral and written communication skills
- To emphasize the application of basic skills to real life situations
- To develop and improve problem solving in critical thinking skills
- To engage students in effective learning practices including the application of informational technology
- To promote creativity and aesthetic expression for all students
- To ensure the delivery of appropriate educational programs for all students
- To promote physical fitness, wellness, and life learning skills
- To analyze standardized test scores with a focus on continual improvement and compliance with federal guidelines
B. To support and encourage staff development
- To promote staff development on best practices in instruction at all levels
- To promote staff development for all employees to effectively perform job requirements
C. To promote collaborative and interpersonal skills which maintain a communication network reflecting family, staff, community, and school board expectations
- To enhance the existing positive climate of interaction among students, staff, and community
- To maintain the correlation and continuity of educational programs
- To promote written and verbal documentation which communicates student progress
- To encourage the use of technology in communicating with parents and the community

D. To support, review, assess, and modify the technology plan

- To encourage the use of technology in life skills
- To integrate technology throughout the curriculum
- To evaluate the plan’s impact on the students’ educational progress
E. To respond to the changing cultural, developmental, social and educational needs of the students and community
- To promote the development of responsibility for one’s own actions, ethics, discipline, and ability to establish and assess goals leading to good citizenship
- To promote respect for diversity of students, staff, and community
- To investigate and implement additional programs to address student issues
- To continue to support the community based Character Counts! program
- To promote understanding and respect for our national heritage
- To promote student participation in community service activities
F. To continually review safety and security plans and procedures in coordination with local and regional governmental entities to ensure a protective environment for our students and staff
G. To maintain efficient and responsible fiscal management policies in support of an excellent educational system
- To ensure physical facilities will support educational and environmental standards
- To continue the budgetary process that reflects the goals and objectives of the educational system and keep the community informed through a variety of forums
