Our third grade students are studying a note called “low” in preparation for labeling it as low la, a note that is a skip below do. One of the songs we used to hear this note is called “Phoebe in Her Petticoat,” and old American folk song.
As a side project, we talked about the word patterns of the lyrics, and each class made up new lyrics using the original patterns. Below you will find the original words and each class’s composition.
