The 2008-09 School Year Begins 

The start of the 2008-09 school year is upon us and with it come some exciting changes and additions to the primary building. Over the summer months Benson Primary School received much attention and extensive renovations. The building now has new ceilings, lighting and an updated P.A. system. In addition, pipes throughout the building were reinsulated. The grounds were manicured, the gymnasium floor was refinished and all of the classrooms received a deep cleaning. Staff changes have also taken place including the hiring of Penny Palermo as a new building secretary. Welcome Penny!

The 2008-09 school year begins for all students on Wednesday, August 20th with a full day of classes. As a reminder for our early childhood, K-prep and kindergarten students and parents, a.m. class times are 9:05-11:45 and p.m. class times are 12:32-3:20 p.m. Dismissal time on Thursdays throughout the school year is 2:40 p.m. for all students.

Parents are invited to attend the IEPTO “Meet and Greet” in the Benson Primary gymnasium at 9:05 a.m. on the 20th of August. This is a terrific way for parents to make new acquaintances and also to find out more about the services that the Itasca Elementary Parent Teacher Organization offers to Benson Primary School. We hope to see you at this meeting.
