Superintendent John Butts gave a brief report on sender school communication and cooperation.
Associate Superintendent Lynne Panega presented an update on District 108’s curriculum mapping program which is being coordinated with the sender districts. She noted that the goal of the program is to have an aligned K-12 curriculum that also aligns with state standards. Mrs. Panega reported that Lake Park is currently in the early stages of this program which has a 3-5 year implementation plan.
Mike Wojtowicz, director of curriculum, demonstrated the curriculum mapping program using the Lake Park web site and showing sender school sites. He noted that Lake Park’s site is accessible by departments whereas elementary and middle school sites will be by grade level. Mr. Wojtowicz commented that sender school teachers will initially have access to Lake Park’s curriculum as well as their own, with a goal of eventually being able to view all Lake Park’s sender school curriculums.
Mrs. Panega and Mr. Wojtowicz answered questions from participants.
