I. Call to order, roll call, and Pledge of Allegiance

The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Nolte, President, at 6:03 PM. With the following ROLL CALL:

II. II. Welcome to Visitors – Mrs. Nolte welcomed all visitors to the meeting.

III. Review and Revision of Mission Statement

President Nolte asked administrators for their input in the process of review and revisions. Among issues suggested were staff development for academic excellence, a specific health care counselor or social worker for regular education programs, and expanding student support services.

Dr. Cull addressed the board regarding the possibility of narrowing the goals down in the future. This would allow the board to focus more on broader issues while allowing administrators to zero in on specific ways to reach the goals. The Board indicated that principals should not feel obligated to address every goal.

Members of the board and administrators reviewed the Mission Statement for the 2003-2004 school year. A discussion ensued.

IV. Review and Revision of Goals

Members of the Board of Education and administration reviewed and discussed each goal making some changes and revisions.

No action was taken. A copy of the revised Mission Statement and Goals is attached to these minutes.

V. Adjournment

There being no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m. by Mrs. Nolte, President.
