PURPOSE: The purpose of the special salary committee meeting was to consider information regarding educational support personnel/administrative salaries.

The meeting was held at the Administrative Center, 200 North Maple, Itasca.

I. Committee chairperson, called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
with the following committee members present:

Mrs. Maureen McDonald
Mr. Neal Schawel
Mr. Dennis Torii (arrived shortly after beginning of meeting)

Also present:

Dr. Glenn Acksel, Superintendent
Mrs. Catherine Seger, Recording Secretary
Staff members

Mrs. McDonald led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance.

II. Mrs. McDonald welcomed visitors to the meeting and asked for
any comments from members of the audience. The committee
was asked if they would have any recommendations at this
meeting. Superintendent Acksel explained the process of the
work of the committee. More than likely, a recommendation
would not be made at this meeting but presented to the entire
Board of Education at the June 9, 1999 regular meeting.

III.A motion was made by Mr. Torii and seconded by Mr. Schawel
that a closed session be held to consider information regarding
personnel. The motion carried on the following ROLL CALL VOTE:

Mr. Torii

The committee entered a closed session at 6:05 p.m.

A motion was made by Mr. Torii and seconded by Mrs. McDonald that the committee return to open session. The motion carried on the following ROLL CALL VOTE:

AYES NAYS

Mr. Torii
Mrs. McDonald
Mr. Schawel

The committee returned to open session at 7:10 p.m.

Mr. Schawel left the meeting.

Mrs. McDonald stated that while in closed session, the committee had discussed information regarding the employment of personnel and no action was taken. A consensus had been reached and members of the committee will be making a recommendation to the Board of Education at the June 9, 1999 regular meeting.

III.Adjournment - There being no further business, Chairperson Mrs. McDonald adjourned the committee meeting at 7:13 p.m.
